Muddy Princess: a 5km obstacle mud run.
And don’t be fooled by pictures of women in frilly pink tutu’s, this is not an event for damsels in distress!
It’s February 11th, 2018 and I have never felt more alive! I mean never!! I can hear the blood rushing through my veins!!! And I’ve never been happier.
The course itself was challenging, it made a lot of women overcome their fears like dirt, pools of mud and heights. And let me just say that there is nothing more inspiring than watching a woman fail, fix her ponytail and demolish the obstacle in front of her!
And even when the task at hand was proving to be impossible, there was always a smiling face covered in mud willing to help out a fellow sister. That’s honestly what made this event so incredible – seeing complete strangers going out of their way to help each other out. #girlssupportinggirls
Take it from someone that has severe social anxiety, this event was massive. The sheer number of women that showed up to support this course was insane. It was amazing to see large-scale diversity – women of all ages, fitness levels, colour, creed and religion gathered together to say:
- Fuck you cancer!
- Girls are tough as hell!
- Other women are NOT my competition!
It was such an honour to participate in this event, especially with my own girl gang, this is a day I will never forget! I’m already looking forward to doing this again next year.
